I am a person-centred practitioner, having trained at the University of Strathclyde (2000-2002). My approach has also been influenced by existentialism and psychoanalysis. Don't worry if you don't understand these terms - you don't need to in order to benefit from counselling.

All of this simply means I offer a therapeutic space which is honest, respectful, empathic, understanding, confidential, professional, compassionate, and real. I make the process of therapy as straightforward and free of confusion or mystification as possible. I believe it's important that you feel comfortable with me, as counselling / psychotherapy can involve exploring difficult, painful, or embarrassing things, and I encourage you to ask any questions you have about my background and qualifications, or about the process of therapy, at our initial meeting.

I work with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, loss, and identity issues, and would be happy to meet you for an initial appointment so we can see if I am the right counsellor for you.

I have many years' experience of working with a wide range of clients, including: individuals; couples; survivors of trauma, abuse and violence; lesbian, gay and bisexual people; transgendered and transsexual people; and people experiencing sexual or relationship problems.
